Lyla Peters

The Last Cookie is a short 2D animated film about two sisters who find a snack-eating monster in their cupboard and have to figure out how to deal with it! The aim of this project was to make something light-hearted, wholesome and comedic. This film was developed with Ashani Morar. I was responsible for the human character designs and the animation while also contributing to the scriptwriting and editing.

This project was guided by my research question:  "How can I use limited animation, as well as character design, in a way to enhance visual comedy, captivating and immersing audiences within the comedic narrative?"  To explore this, I focused on simple character designs that would make animating easier and chose an animation technique that leaned into simplicity as well as comedy.
