Workers are often overlooked, and their needs are not always prioritised. The Staff House changes this by shifting perspectives like a kaleidoscope, and creating a space dedicated to the people who keep Newmarket functioning. Located on Broadway, opposite Westfield shopping centre, The Staff House is a rest and support centre for local workers, including those in hospitality, retail, transport, cleaning, security and gig work.

Designed around the needs of its users, the space supports physical and mental wellbeing, offers access to advice and training, and fosters community between workers. Through social spaces, quiet spaces, an internal courtyard, workshop facilities and movement spaces it creates opportunities for workers to rest, learn and connect before, during or after their shifts.

The Staff House is a collection of materials, facilities and people which together brings awareness to the workers, making them feel seen, supported and valued. A space that cares for the people who care for everyone else.
