The Lonely Mountain, a winter survival game, designed to provide solace and comfort to players seeking a solitary, reflective gaming experience. This project was developed around the research question “How can I design a survival game that uses mechanics to create a sense of isolation that feels comforting rather than ‘eerie’?”.
What makes my project unique is my goal to challenge myself as a solo developer to design an atmospheric survival game by prototyping survival elements and mechanics such as crafting, cooking, and collecting. Although this is still a work in progress to develop and polish core mechanics, I'm very pleased with my current result, this experience has motivated me to deepen my skills and contribute to the industry.
