My works consist of self-portraits exploring the intersection of the passage of time and identity and the liquefaction of identity through time. They are a continuous interplay of our experiences, choices, and transformations. This series also explores the notion of the fragility and delicacy of the present and the impermanence of time and identity, along with the fluidity of life and our existence.
The constant movements aim to capture the “in-between” movements, symbolising and highlighting the journey that transported us from the person we were to the person we are, and eventually, the person we will become. Acknowledging every experience that made me who I am. Some I look back at fondly, some I reflect with regret, and some I find myself trying to bury. The same past version of myself that I criticise, love, and attempt to abandon are the same people who got up every day working towards a better tomorrow. The reason we have been able to be the people we are today is the result of the efforts the past versions of ourselves had made - The present is a gift given to us from the past. It is also a reminder to share some of that love with yourself in the present.
