An Introspective Journey of a Neurodivergent Girl's Milestone Moments - a publication

This project is created as part of my vision to develop my own self-based story in conjunction with the purpose of using the tools that I have gained during my study tenure.
A combination of applying both traditional and digital forms of illustration - mainly mixed media collages, the book is a narrative and cumulative process of my learning journey and practices within my communication design study. It is a self advocacy publication where it shows what my capabilities and challenges are as an individual. It represents a journey of defining moments of growing up in overcoming obstacles and gaining milestones. “I looked back to a place that inspired me with a memorable connection. I have an affinity and obsession when it comes to Japanese art (manga) language and product.” To create something that is derivative of my experience, my goal is to convey a meaningful and unique perspective of the way I think and approach life in general. I believe that in choosing to write my own based story can both provide a direct insight into who I am as a person. The intent is to have an inspirational read and a relatable reference for both adult and young audiences within the coming of age genre, particularly serving as a voice for neurodivergent adults. My hope is to create an encouraging voice that leads to a future opportunity, to be an educational advocate for others, and to work and design future character concepts.
