Evolution through recognition has been the key concept for my project. It is a chance for me to explore my own unexplained and unanswered experiences as a diasporic individual. Throughout my art-making, my main objective was centred on finding a way to connect and find belonging in both of my identities. However, as I progressed throughout the year, instinctively, my body and mind always gravitated towards my Vietnamese side. Through my photography and fabric installation, I depict vulnerability and fragility to illustrate the embodiment of a mourning and lost individual who longs to go home. By bringing this to light, I aim to raise awareness that such feelings are still an ongoing issue within the diasporic community. I hope that viewers might see fragments of themselves reflected in my stories or simply find warmth in knowing they are sharing an intimate moment with me.
