Helping kids hold and follow their curiosity.

WonderBug is a curiosity-led experience for Kiwi children aged 9–11, designed to help them recognise and take greater agency over what captures their attention. In an increasingly digital environment, children are constantly exposed to new ideas and interests, but the opportunity to pursue these beyond the initial moment can easily be lost. Rather than critiquing screen time, WonderBug responds to the gap between discovering something interesting and choosing to explore it further. Through a physical Egg recorder and a digital Curiosity Garden, children can hold onto spontaneous thoughts, revisit emerging interests and choose what they want to follow. A growing Caterpillar visualises their exploration, helping them reflect on their efforts, discoveries and how they learn. Ultimately, WonderBug aims to nurture children’s curiosity, agency and self-directed exploration.
